Pearls of Wisdom

Day 64

What am I doing that is counterproductive to what I want?

Here’s what made me ask myself that question today: a man is suing CBS  because he feels he was duped into appearing on a television show and he’s embarrassed by the result.

Let’s just say that I never heard of “pearly penile papules” before, and if this lawsuit hadn’t hit the news, I might have gone my whole life without this information, which would have been fine with me.

But now I know what they are, I know who had them, and because of his lawsuit, the video is everywhere and I can watch the episode in question. (Which I did NOT, thankyouverymuch)

This cannot possibly be his hoped-for outcome.  It was a predictable outcome, though.

So, what am I doing that is guaranteed to produce an unwanted outcome?  Yikes.  I can think of at least three things.  And one of them is what I was planning to have for lunch.

Thanks, penis lawsuit guy.

Oh Ruth Ann … this reminds me to write the book of epic embarassments gathered from my days in the ER, clinic and surgery … thanks! :)

Prologue: “Did you hear about the guy with the star tattooed on his penis?”
