Reap What You Sew*

Day 166
When I was a kid, most women sewed. Most girls had “sewing kits.” You could buy sewing supplies almost anywhere back then – the 5&10 cent store, department stores, even drugstores. The displays were like beautiful rainbows. Very attractive to children. My grandmother and my mother both sewed. They bought hundreds, if not thousands, of spools of thread.
Yesterday, I saw what Devorah Sperber did with a few thousand spools of thread .
I don’t often say “You really oughta click that link,” but if you read this far, you really oughta click that “few thousand spools of thread” link.
My head is still spinning like a bobbin.
(Deep sigh) This is why we need museums, why art and artists deserve more appreciation . Creativity sparks more creativity. Inspired works inspire more works of inspiration.
There’s so much potential in all of us – just like a spool of thread. It’s what you make of it, eh?

*Yes, I know it’s “Reap What You Sow.” Thank you for your efforts to enlighten me, which are always noted if not always appreciated.
