And The Winner Is….

Day 67

I like the Red Carpet spectacle, the gorgeous people and the state of costume art – it’s the most sparkly and glamorous tribal ritual in the United States.

Last night, during one of the manymanymany commercial breaks in the Oscar telecast, I took out the garbage.

I looked up…and there were the real stars.

Nothing humans invent or create can rival that show.  I am so grateful that it’s available to us all, free, appearing almost every night.

I’d like to thank the Academy.

It pleased me to see that the Academy did select people over politics … meaningful messages, conscious raising stories were honored … yes, dreams and fantasy are important *and* action, consistency over time matters! And one more thing … kudos to the people who aksed Barbra Streisand to present the Oscar to Kathryn Bigelow!

Ruth Ann–I have been with you every single day of your sabbatical. It’s wonderful to have a journalist’s soulful observations, written with both empathy and style, to inform the day. Keep it up–won’t know how to do the day when (if) you go back to “work.”
